With reference to your despatch No.116 (F 6154/

38/87) of July 18th last I have the honour to transmit

herewith cow of a letter from Sir Edward Cook discussing,

with special reference to Namazie, the difficulties that

confront the Siamese Government on entering the opium

market.

2. The suggestions and arguments advanced by Sir

E. Cook appear to me to be worthy of sympathetic
